Samsung has unveils his new smartphone called GT-S8500 or Wave. The phone was unveiled at the 2010 Mobile World Congress and features a “super-AMOLED” display. The phone is running Samsung’s proprietary OS called BADA. The device measures 3.3-inches and features a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels.
The Wave features:
- supports video recording at 720p,
- a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash,
- A-GPS (Assisted-GPS),
- HSDPA (High-Speed Downlink Packet Access) at 3.6M bps,
- 802.11n standard,
- Bluetooth 3.0.
The Wave has build in support for social networks and integrates Facebook in his agenda.
The device is powered by a 1GHz processor, developed by Samsung, and comes in an aluminium body that’s 10.9 millimeters thick.
The Wave will start shipping in April in Europe, and then in most other parts of the world in May. The US availability is still “under discussion”.
The S8500 Wave will cost €320 (US$436).
